Program
Operations, Events, and Community Outreach:
● Denim Day: Staff made presentations to several community groups. Press releases, community briefs, and letters
to the editor were submitted to coast and inland newspapers.
● Program Operations: Services
to new clients in all offices and the shelter has been very busy and unusually
challenging
● Grant Applications and Awards:
o The FESG re-application (shelter staffing) was
submitted. We reduced our application
request to $100,000. This amount is a
20% increase over the ‘04-06 award. In
our final analysis we think this amount is more likely to be successful.
o Budgets and work-plan revisions for DHS are due on
May 1st.
o United Way did not fund our 2006/07 application for
the “Community Impact Fund”. This would
have covered motel vouchers and some shelter costs. This one was a long shot, but would have been

o Christine is requesting funds from Mendocino Forest
Products to pay for re-roofing the Coast office
o A proposal for Tobacco Settlement monies for 2 years
of prevention education program expansion is still pending.
o The Rotary Club of Mendocino awarded $1,200 to the
