Executive Director’s Report for March
4, 2008 Board Meeting
Funding Updates:
2. The RFA
has still not yet been received for Ukiah City Redevelopment Funds to
rehabilitate the transition house.
3. The TR
Eriksen Foundation application needs to be sent by March 15, 2008. I am working on it now. The focus of this proposal is to supplement our
prevention education services to serve more schools in the
4. We have
been advised to expect 10% funding cuts from OES and DHS in 08/09. We have not yet received specific information
about which of the funding pots could be impacted. And until the 08/09 state budget is passed,
we won’t know the final impact.
Facilities:
● Transition House: We have received
an assessment report of the deficiencies at the transition house. This report needs to be evaluated by
contractors in order to learn the estimated cost of repairs and to provide these
details for grant application(s) (See # 2 above).

The Ukiah office heating units were not working. One has been repaired and one needs parts
which have not yet been received. We are
requesting compensation in the form of reduced rent in March.
Activities/Program Updates:
● Denim Day is Wednesday, April 23.
● Walk a Mile is Saturday,
April 26. Amunka Davila and his troop of drummers
confirmed their participation.
● Inland volunteer graduation and celebration of volunteer anniversaries is Monday, 4/28 from 5:30 – 6:30 at the
Ukiah office. Staff, board members, and
volunteers are invited to attend to meet each other and share this celebration. Please save this date and time if you can. More information will follow.
● A newsletter will be sent in late March to advertise Sexual
Assault Awareness Month Events in April (Walk-a-Mile and Denim Day among other
things.)
